Rocking their new away kit for the first time, this kit was funded by a parent. In honour of the players in the team with Autism we've put I AM the charity supporting young people with Autism in Greater Manchester as the sponsor.
The girls were ready to put last weeks performance behind them for the better with an away game to Radcliffe Thunder.
20 mins into the game the sharks were starting to rise on top with some quick fire chances being saved my a spectacular opposition keeper.
The sharks were combining with each other making it hard for the home side to get any attack off but those they did we had Millie denying them at first chance. Sienna and Charlotte link up well on the attack and a finger tip stops the sharks from a 1-0 lead.
Half time and the coaches felt like they deserved to be 2/3 goals ahead but the score was still 0-0 with the sharks not doing much wrong.
The team come out in the second half and continue to try and pick away at the home side but a good free kick and a long range effort seen the home side take a quick 2-0 lead, the girls looked shocked in reaction to how they are losing this game.
With 10 minutes to go the sharks were fighting for every ball trying their best to get anything out of the game and then suddenly Georgia after not scoring all season has made it 2 goals in 2 games with a tidy finish in the side netting.
The girls tried their hardest to push for a equaliser but it just wasn’t meant to be and the full time whistle was blown leaving the game 2-1 to the home side.
The coaches were pleased with a lot of elements on the performance compared to the week before when they won and noticed a lot of an improvement individually with communication and movement today. We shown them that this team isn't about just results and that we put their development above anything else, it's why we were full of praise at the end for the way they fought and never give up.
Girl of the game was sweeper keeper Millie who pulled off one of the best saves of the season and was a real savour throughout the game.
Well done Sharks we go again next week 🦈
