After no football for over a month the sharks are ready to start the year with a bang.

The team are looking to put an end to their poor form at the back end of 2024 with a trip up to Westbury today who we drew with 2-2 earlier this season.

The weather was going to play a factor today with most players not being able to feel their feet with the cold so rolling subs from the coaches to ensure players keep on moving.

An end to end start to the game seen the Sharks get stuck straight into the game defensively to not give away any early goals as the opposition start brightly.

After 10 mins the Sharks start to find their feet and were pulling apart the oppositions back line through the passes from Eve and Georgia.

Makalya doing one of her famous runs releases the ball through to Chloe who is brought down, The Refere  plays the advantage as Sienna out of nowhere latches onto the rolling ball and fires the sharks into a 1-0 lead!

The goal gave the team the confidence to play their football the way the coaches have set out.

Half time has arrived with the coaches pleased so far but still searching for that second goal to allow some breathing space.

Into the second half we go and the Sharks have kept their momentum playing with control and freedom.

Ava playing in her new position of left back plays a long pass down the line to Sienna who plays a brillian  whipped cross which is finished first time from Charlotte! 2-0 and a goal the coaches were buzzing about the way that goal was created and finished.

The defensive line were winning absolutely everything infront of them allowing their teammates to get on the ball today which is a massive credit to them.

Missy has found her self in a pocket of space and plays a perfect ball splitting the oppositions defence wide open for Chloe to bring it down and a strikers finish to put the Sharks 3-0 up.

The sharks were looking electric in attack playing some of their best football in the front line we had seen all season.

Tilly who today had played holding midfield brilliantly wins the ball back and plays into Makalyas feet who literally storms through the defender to make it 4-0 with a composed finish.

Full time Sharks have come out victorious to start the year with a 4-0 win and starting the year with a clean sheet as well.

Girl of the game: Tilly
Played her best game for the sharks today in such an important role.
