Sharks turn the tide!
13/10/24
Roach Dynamos v Winton Wanderers Sharks 0-5
After 3 games without a win and 2 games without a goal, this game was always going to be a tough one….or was it?
Sharks travelled away to Roach dynamos who had started the season with 4 straight high scoring wins before a narrow loss last week but were still a team to be concerned of.
The girls were ready to put the poor form to an end with a fighting spirit going into this game looking to prove a point after last weeks loss to Aspull!
The first half started end to end for the first moments in the game but once it settled the sharks took charge and started to dominate, the girls took the lead through Makayla with a charging run and left foot finish from midfield making it 1-0.
16 minutes later and its 3-0!
A quick fire double from Sienna sent shockwaves across the opposition with the girls putting in a top display. A cross from Charlotte that Beckham would have been proud of set up Siennas 1st
Her 2nd from a corner which came from a new corner routine we'd worked on that had the opposition defenders on a different planet!
At Half time the coaches were happy but made sure the girls knew they had not won this game yet after previously losing games when leading at half time.
15 minutes into the second half the sharks first teenager Eve scored the day after turning 13, with a great finish with her weaker foot to make it 4-0…… 11 minutes later she got a birthday weekend double making it 5-0!
The performance from the team was superb especially the reaction to a heavy loss the week before.
The cherry on top was an outstanding defensive display from the defenders who didn’t give the opposition any chance today.
Girls of the game went to Sienna and Eve both with a brace but were real game changers today 🧡🖤
